What the single Registration Fee covers?
• Host family picking you up at the airport in Quito between 7Am to 11PM. For later arrivals volunteers are advised to take a taxi to their assigned family home at the costs of The VE.
• Registration
• Visits to various placements before the volunteer chooses one
• Orientation: information regarding the assigned project or programme of your choice, city transport, personal security etc.
• Continuous support throughout the duration the volunteering.
• Twenty-four hour assistance and support.
Certificate or Diploma on the completion of the volunteering work. If volunteering is more than 16 weeks (112 days) the Diploma is issued in an elegant metal and mahogany plaque, like the picture above.
What the Host Family cost covers?
• Home: located in a secure upper middle class neighbourhood of Quito, “El Batan”. Our host family homes are located very close one to another to facilitate our volunteer’s personal relations, night and weekend activities and tour plans.
• Bedroom: A fully equipped room, which is normally shared with another volunteer of the same gender. Volunteers as a couple can also be housed.
• Bathroom: shower with warm water service the whole day. Volunteer should bring his/ her own towels and personal items (hair dryer, alarm clock, etc.).
• Food: is available, for more information please contact us with your dietary requirements.
• Laundry: Once a week.
• Telephone: Two times a day only for local calls.
At the cost of the volunteer, upon request, only
• Spanish training at our affiliated academy (see Section "Spanish Learning").
• Trips on weekends: Galapagos, jungle, snow, Pacific coast, etc.
• Provision of workouts, aerobics, gyms, salsa dancing courses, bullfights attendance, etc.
Application Form
The VE does not require you to fill out any application form in advance. However you should send a short CV (your personal and academic background) and a scanned photo of yourself as it is necessary for the immigration authorities and our records.
